Indulging in a wooded Reestdal

The accommodation
Our beautiful chalet ‘Het Balkerbos’ is located on a small-scale holiday park, in the middle of the woods of Balkbrug.

Our 4-person chalet is new (2023) and has all modern conveniences. The chalet feels spacious, partly due to the abundance of light. 

The living room has a comfortable sofa and 2 armchairs. When you are not out and about, you can relax here, have a chat together, read a book, have a drink or pick up a nice game from the cupboard. There is a good (free) WiFi connection, so you can also use your digital resources.

At the dining area, there is room for 4 people at the cosy dining table. Besides eating together, this table is ideal for playing games! 

The new kitchen is fully equipped so you can enjoy cooking together. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space and is equipped with a dishwasher, gas cooker, a spacious fridge with freezer drawers and an oven. Baking an oven dish or pizza, it's all possible here! 
The kitchen is equipped with all kinds of kitchenware. There are also suitable kitchen utensils for younger children. 
In addition, the kitchen has a toaster and sandwich maker. The kitchen is equipped with a filter coffee machine and a kettle. There is sufficient kitchen inventory to prepare your own delicious meals.

There are 2 bedrooms in our chalet. One bedroom has a double bed (160x200). The other bedroom has 2 single beds (90x200). The bedrooms offer plenty of storage space. The master bedroom has a beautiful built-in wardrobe, where you can store your hanging garments as well as folded clothes. 

Of course, a nice bathroom cannot be missing. The bathroom has a nice shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The bathroom also has an extraction system and a radiator. 
You need to bring your own towels. 

All our windows have a mosquito net. This is ideal for those sultry summer nights and it keeps the insects out. 

The living room has garden doors, making it easy to step outside. The spacious terrace has a number of comfortable chairs. Under the veranda is a lovely garden set where you can dine or linger with a cool drink in the sun.
The garden has both sun and shade. There are extra deck chairs in the barn that you can put wherever you like. There are also some nice outdoor games in the shed. The garden has been completely redecorated (2025).

In our chalet there is an information booklet in which you can find important information. It also contains fun tips for outings in the area. In addition, you can always contact the friendly reception of the holiday park with your (urgent) questions.

The surroundings
Het Balkerbos is located on the edge of the Reestdal nature reserve.Here you can enjoy walking and cycling.The visitors' centre 1km away is also worth a visit.From here, there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities. 
From Balkbrug, you can go in all directions. Think Dedemsvaart with the Gardens of Mien Ruys, rent a boat on the Vecht in Ommen; go shopping in Zwolle or enjoy the silence in the surrounding woods. 

In the middle of the woods is the Heuveltjesbosbad (1500m). This is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and voted the most beautiful outdoor pool in the Netherlands! The swimming pool has 3 pools: A beautiful paddling pool with many slides and other attributes; a competition pool with diving boards and a slide; in addition, there is another pool with a slide. The pool also has a beautiful sunbathing area with a playground. 

The cosy village of Balkbrug has a supermarket. For larger groceries, you can go to Dedemsvaart or Zuidwolde. 

The holiday park offers plenty of entertainment for children. The park has a lovely restaurant with a large terrace overlooking a playground. In addition, it is always great fun in the panna cage, where plenty of football can be played. Go-karts can also be rented at the park's reception.

The holiday park also features an incredibly fun ‘outdoors’. Nice climbing, scrambling, survival and getting dirty. 
Fun for young and old.Around Ascension 2025, the hay barn (for socialising), sports field (including volleyball) and activity centre will also be opened. 

Guest access
Het Balkerbos' has parking space for 1 car, you will receive a key for the barrier when you check in. This key is intended for 1 car. A possible second car (or if you prefer not to park a car at the chalet) can be parked on the large parking lot at the beginning of the vacation park or, if there is enough space, directly at the barrier. Parking is free of charge.

Check in and check out is through the vacation park reception. For questions and tips, please contact the reception. You may also send us a message at any time. 
You will receive our contact information after your final booking.

In our house there is a guestbook, we would love it if you would write a nice message in it.

Other important information

• Bed linen is optional. We provide a made bed on arrival. 
• Bath and kitchen towels are not optional and you must bring your own. 
• We can provide a cot and high chair. This is on request. 
• Hygiene is very important to us, therefore a final cleaning is obligatory. The final cleaning is €54,-.
• The tax is per person per night. This is €1.05 per person, per night.
